Emergency services are responding after a person was struck by a train near Coppermill Junction  on Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, after 7am the alarm was raised.

The incident, which was initially reported to the British Transport Police is now being managed by them they have also called on the assistants of Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service.

There is no official update on the condition of the person involved at this time, and details surrounding the circumstances remain unclear.

Commuters in the area have been advised to expect delays and disruption to services, and to seek alternative routes if possible.

Emergency crews are working at the scene, and a cordon is in place while the incident is being dealt with.
