An urgent manhunt is underway after a 15-year-old girl was reportedly grabbed by two men who attempted to drag her into a car in a terrifying kidnap attempt in Plymouth.
The shocking incident took place on Sunday evening (March 9) at around 6.55pm on Colebrook Road, a residential street in St Budeaux.
The teenager had been walking along the road when she was approached by the two unknown males. According to police, the pair allegedly attempted to force her into a car in what is being investigated as an attempted abduction.
Thankfully, the girl managed to escape their grasp and raise the alarm by contacting police shortly after the ordeal. She was reportedly physically unharmed but left shaken by the encounter.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Devon and Cornwall Police have now launched a major investigation and are appealing to the public for witnesses, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings that could help identify the suspects and the vehicle involved.
A spokesperson for the force said:
“Police were called following a report of an attempted kidnap in Plymouth. It was reported that at around 6.55pm on Sunday, 9 March, a female was walking along Colebrook Road, Plymouth, when two males tried to pull her into a car.
The attempt was unsuccessful, and the victim was able to escape unhurt. Enquiries are ongoing.”

The incident has left residents in the quiet neighbourhood of St Budeaux deeply concerned. One local parent told reporters:
“It’s absolutely terrifying. We walk our kids down this street every day — the thought that something like this could happen here is just horrific.”
