Cold Case Breakthrough as Two Men Charged in Decades-Old Murder Investigation
Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the 1984 death of Anthony Littler, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Anthony Littler, 45, was found with serious injuries near East End Road, East Finchley on 1 May 1984. He tragically died at the scene.
Despite the passage of time, detectives from the Met Police’s Specialist Crime Unit have continued to investigate his death, ensuring support for his family throughout the process.
Arrests and Charges
Two men were originally arrested on Thursday, 21 March 2024, as part of the ongoing investigation. They have now been charged with murder:
- Michael Stewart, 55 (born 11 April 1969), of Station Road, EN5
- Anthony Stewart, 59 (born 19 November 1965), of Old Farm Road, N29
Both men have been remanded into custody and are set to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 6 March.
Ongoing Investigation
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that three other men, previously arrested on suspicion of murder, remain under investigation.
