Man in His 20s Taken to Hospital Following Late-Night Incident
A pedestrian in his 20s has been left with serious injuries after being struck by a bus in West Denton, Newcastle.
The incident occurred on West Denton Way just after 10pm on Saturday, March 1, opposite the Morrisons supermarket.
Emergency Response
Emergency services, including Northumbria Police and paramedics, rushed to the scene following reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman confirmed:
“Shortly after 7.10pm on Saturday, March 1, we received a report of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian on West Denton Way in Newcastle.
“Emergency services attended, where a male pedestrian, aged in his 20s, had sustained serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. He was taken to hospital for treatment.”
Investigation Underway
The bus driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police enquiries.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. The road was temporarily closed following the incident but has since reopened.
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage to come forward to assist the investigation.
