A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in his 60s, three days after he was allegedly assaulted outside the Bournemouth Carlton Hotel.
Ongoing Investigation
Crime scenes remain cordoned off at both Redhill Avenue and East Overcliff as forensic teams examine the areas.
Detectives are keeping an open mind as they work to establish the full circumstances of the death.
A full post-mortem examination is expected to take place in the coming days.
Police Statement
Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, leading the investigation, said:
“A full investigation has been launched, and we are supporting the victim’s family as our inquiries continue. We urge anyone who witnessed the reported assault on Tuesday to come forward.”
He also reassured the public:
“There will be an increased police presence in the area as investigative work continues. Anyone with concerns or information should speak to an officer.”
