Germany has reportedly welcomed hundreds of Afghan refugees, with authorities expecting as many as 13,000 more to arrive in the coming months.
The influx comes as part of ongoing international efforts to provide asylum for those fleeing instability in Afghanistan. Many of the refugees arriving in Germany are believed to include families, former government employees, and individuals who had worked with Western forces.
German officials have yet to release exact figures but have confirmed that preparations are underway to accommodate the arrivals. The country has previously pledged to support Afghan nationals at risk, particularly those who had cooperated with international organizations.
