A woman was taken to hospital after emergency services responded to reports of a “casualty on the tracks” at Borough Green and Wrotham railway station this afternoon.
The incident occurred around 1:45pm on 25 February, leading to the suspension of train services between Swanley and Maidstone East. Power to the railway lines was switched off to allow emergency crews to safely access the area.
Emergency Response
British Transport Police (BTP) and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene, alongside an air ambulance from Kent, Surrey, and Sussex Air Ambulance Charity.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed the incident:
“Officers were called to Borough Green and Wrotham railway station at around 1:45pm today (25 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, and a person has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening.”
South East Coast Ambulance Service further stated that the woman was assessed and treated at the scene before being transported by road to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for further medical treatment.
Rail Disruption and Service Resumption
All train services through Borough Green and Wrotham station were halted following the incident. Southeastern Railway reported the power had been restored to all lines by 3:30pm, with services gradually resuming.
By 5:00pm, Southeastern confirmed that services were almost fully restored, though delays and residual disruptions continued into the early evening.

The British Transport Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing for any witnesses who may have been at the station during the incident.
