Two suspected drug dealers have been charged and Class A drugs seized following a proactive police operation in Chatham, Medway.
Arrests and Seizure
Kent Police officers on patrol in the Luton area of Chatham at around 7pm on Tuesday, 11 February noticed suspicious behaviour and moved in to investigate.
Two men were detained and searched, leading to the discovery of:
- A number of wraps of suspected Class A drugs
- A quantity of cannabis
- Several mobile phones
- A large sum of cash
Suspects Charged
Following the arrests, two men have been charged:
- Alfie Carter, 23, of Rowan Road, Bexleyheath, London
- Adetokunbo Ezekiel Zambara, 22, of Shroffold Road, Bromley, London
Both men face the following charges:
- Possession with intent to supply heroin
- Possession with intent to supply crack cocaine
- Possession with intent to supply cannabis
- Possession of criminal property, in relation to the cash seized
Court Appearances
The suspects appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 13 February for an initial hearing. Their case has been referred to Maidstone Crown Court, where they are due to appear on Friday, 14 March.
Police Crackdown on Drug Crime
A Kent Police spokesperson said:
“This operation is part of our ongoing commitment to disrupt drug-related crime in Medway. These arrests send a clear message that we will take action against those who bring harm to our communities.”
