A 75-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a shop assistant in Tunbridge Wells, Kent Police have confirmed.
The incident took place at a store on Calverley Road at approximately 3:45 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Allegations and Arrest
According to reports, the suspect approached a female shop assistant, made inappropriate comments, touched her arm, and made lewd gestures before leaving the store on foot.
Police responded swiftly, and officers located a man from Crawley, West Sussex, in a nearby road. He was arrested on suspicion of:
- Sexual assault
- Common assault
- A public order offence
Police Investigation and Bail Conditions
The suspect has since been released on conditional bail until April, while police conduct further inquiries into the case.
