A suspected drug dealer has been charged as police continue their crackdown on class A drug supply in Medway.
The arrest followed a suspicious vehicle stop in Chatham, leading officers to seize cocaine, cash, and mobile phones.
Suspicious Car Leads to Arrest
On Monday, February 3, 2025, at around 11:40 am, patrol officers noticed a suspicious car in the Magpie Hall Road area.
Police signalled for the driver to stop, but the vehicle continued moving before eventually stopping in Palmerston Road.
A man fled the scene on foot, prompting a police pursuit.
Officers arrested a suspect nearby shortly after.
A search of the suspect and the vehicle led to the seizure of multiple wraps of cocaine, a large quantity of cash, and two mobile phones suspected to be linked to drug dealing.
Suspect Charged and Court Appearance
The following day, Tuesday, February 4, police charged Malachi Oba, 26, of Longley Lane, Rochester with:
Possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (cocaine)
Dangerous driving
Oba appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court at a later date.
