A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding following an attack on an 82-year-old man in Handsworth. The victim remains in critical condition in the hospital.
Incident Details
The attack occurred around 3:30 PM on Tuesday, 14 January 2025, at a bus stop on Soho Road, near the junction with Boulton Road. The elderly victim was waiting for the 74 bus when he was violently assaulted.
Authorities acted on information provided by the Soho Road Business Improvement District (BID), which led to the suspect’s arrest on 16 January 2025. The suspect is currently in police custody for questioning.
Victim’s Condition
The 82-year-old man sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition in the hospital. Medical staff are continuing to monitor his situation closely.
