The search for two missing people from Gillingham, Louis Bond and Rebecca Smallcalder, has expanded to the Strood area, with police appealing for information regarding their whereabouts.
Last Known Movements
The couple, who were reported missing on Monday, 6 January 2025, were last seen walking through the Medway Towns on the day of their disappearance. Investigators now believe they may have travelled through roads near Darnley Road, Strood, towards Rede Common.
Descriptions and CCTV Appeal
- Louis Bond, 31, is described as white, 5ft 5ins, of slim build, and with a shaved head. A recently recovered CCTV image shows him wearing all black clothing and a light woollen hat. He has previously been seen carrying a black rucksack.
- Rebecca Smallcalder, 26, is white, 5ft 11ins, of slim build, with dark hair worn in a ponytail. In CCTV footage, she was wearing a black top, black trousers, a black hat, and white trainers. She may be carrying a plastic bag and a grey handbag.
Police Statement and Urgent Appeal
Chief Inspector Garry Cook said:
“Our enquiries have placed Louis and Rebecca together in the Strood area. We remain concerned for their welfare and urge them to contact us at the earliest opportunity.
“I am also asking any friends or acquaintances who may have been in contact with them, or anyone who has information that could help, to call our appeal line.”
Public Appeal for CCTV and Dashcam Footage
Police are urging residents and businesses in Strood, particularly in the Darnley Road and Rede Common areas, to check their CCTV footage after 4 PM on Monday, 6 January. Motorists are also asked to review dashcam recordings from that time.
