A Wythenshawe resident has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 47-year-old man in the Manchester suburb.
Scott Thomson, 57, of Skye Walk, Wythenshawe, was charged in connection with the death of James Murray, who was stabbed on Whitburn Road on December 4th, 2024. Thomson is set to appear at Stockport Magistrates Court on December 9th, 2024, after being remanded into custody.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a 64-year-old woman, who was initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail. Detectives have stated they are not seeking any additional suspects at this time.
Investigating officers are continuing to appeal for informtion and are urging anyone with potential evidence to come forward. Members of the public with CCTV, dashcam, or phone footage of the incident are asked to submit information through the Major Incident Public Portal.
