Firefighters Respond to Hailsham House Fire, No Injuries Reported

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) responded to a domestic property fire on Saxon Close in Hailsham this evening, 18 October 2024. The fire service was alerted at 9:08 pm and quickly dispatched four fire engines to the scene.

Firefighters from Herstmonceux, Pevensey, and Eastbourne are currently at the site, working to bring the fire under control. Residents in the area have been advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke, and the public is being asked to avoid the area for their safety.

An update from ESFRS confirmed that crews have been using four breathing apparatus and one hosereel jet to extinguish the fire. By 10:12 pm, firefighters were damping down and turning over debris to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported
