Three men from Hendon have been sentenced to a combined total of over 20 years in prison for supplying drugs, following the death of 44-year-old Alexander Hildred, a vulnerable man who collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest in Bermondsey, south London.
The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation into Hildred’s death, which occurred in the street, and reviewed his phone records, uncovering a network of drug dealers involved in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs. The investigation led to the arrest of three men from north London, linked to the supply of substances including crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid).
At Inner London Crown Court, all three men from Sydney Grove, north London, were sentenced on October 8 for conspiracy to supply drugs and possession of criminal property.
- Hadi Salahi, 39, was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison. He had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs and possession of criminal property on September 13, 2023.
- Hosein Ghadimi, 31, received a seven-year and two-month sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs on August 31, 2023, and possession of criminal property on September 13, 2023.
- Meysam Ghorbani, 30, was sentenced to four years and nine months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs and possession of criminal property on September 13, 2023.
Detective Sergeant Andy Snazell, who led the investigation as part of the Met’s Serious Organised Crime team, said: “The supply of drugs has devastating consequences for communities across London and beyond. It causes addiction, has devastating health impacts, and leads to anti-social behaviour and violence.
He praised the role of local communities in helping the police swiftly pursue offenders, adding, “We are determined to robustly deal with offenders who impact the lives of those around them while driving down crime in local areas and restoring trust and confidence in the Met.”
