A man has been charged with the murder of Dontae McLaren in Lambeth

A man has been charged with the murder of Dontae McLaren following a knife fight in Lambeth.

Dynzell Patrick, 26, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, 3 October) where he was remanded in custody. He is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 7 October.

Patrick was arrested by officers on Tuesday, 1 October.

The incident occurred on Sunday, 29 September at around 4:05 am when police were called to reports of a large group fighting with knives on Wandsworth Road, SW8. Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, 24-year-old Dontae McLaren was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers continue to support his family as investigations proceed.
