Major Accident on A2 Near Rochester Causes Significant Disruption

A major accident occurred on the A2 London-bound near the Rochester turn-off at around 5.15am this morning, causing severe disruption. The collision has left an engine block in the fast lane and the rest of the vehicle in the inside lane. No police were initially present at the scene, but significant road closures are expected.

In a related incident, National Highways South-East has reported that traffic has been stopped on the M2 westbound between Junction 3 (Chatham) and Junction 2 (Rochester) due to a collision on the Medway Bridge. Emergency services and traffic officers are currently on-site, working to manage the situation.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as delays are expected to be lengthy. Authorities are working to clear the scene and will provide updates as soon as possible.
