Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Stabbing in Ipswich Town Centre

Police in Ipswich are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the town centre late on Saturday, 21 September.

Officers were called to St Stephen’s Lane at approximately 11.58pm after reports that a teenager had been stabbed. The incident is believed to have occurred after an altercation involving a group of males, one of whom was reportedly carrying a knife.

The victim, a man in his late teens, suffered two puncture wounds to his leg. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance and is currently receiving treatment. His injuries, while serious, are not considered life-threatening or life-changing.

Witnesses described the suspects as wearing grey or dark clothing with their hoods up. Some of the group were seen fleeing the scene on foot, heading in the direction of Upper Brook Street and Dial Lane.

Police believe the incident was not random, and that the individuals involved were known to each other.
