Train Services Disrupted After Person Hit by Train Near Selhurst Station

Train services between Balham and Selhurst have been severely disrupted after a person was hit by a train near Selhurst station earlier today (September 19). The incident occurred around 6:30 AM, and emergency services are currently on the scene dealing with the situation.

All lines between Balham and Selhurst have been closed, resulting in major delays and cancellations across various routes. National Rail has advised passengers to avoid the area if possible and seek alternative routes, with disruptions expected to continue until around 9 PM.

The incident has caused significant delays on all Gatwick Express routes to and from London Victoria. Additionally, Southern services between Watford Junction, Shepherds Bush, London Bridge, East Croydon, and other routes including London Victoria to Sutton, Epsom Downs, Reigate, East Grinstead, Brighton, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Chichester, Portsmouth Harbour, and Eastbourne have also been impacted.

National Rail confirmed the disruption on X (formerly known as Twitter), advising commuters to seek alternative travel arrangements and check for real-time updates.

British Transport Police and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for further information regarding the incident.
