Police have officially named the man who tragically died following a collision in Worksop. David Chivers, aged 72, of Worksop, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a car at the entrance to the Priorswell Road car park at approximately 11:50 AM on Thursday, 12 September.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the police as inquiries continue to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
Detective Constable Emma Temple of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed her condolences, saying: “This was a tragic and distressing incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family, friends, and the wider community at this time.
DC Temple also urged anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured relevant dashcam footage to come forward. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, who hasn’t yet come forward, or any drivers who may have recorded dashcam footage that may be helpful to our investigation, to get in touch with us.
