Armed police were called to a serious incident on Overton Road, near the junction with Loughborough Road in London, SW9, in the early hours of this morning. The response was initiated just after midnight on August 31, 2024, following reports of a person armed with a knife had carried out an attack the second person is understood to have fired a gun.
The operation saw a significant police presence at the scene, including armed units. Details about the nature of the incident and the reasons for the deployment of armed officers have not yet been released but one resident has claimed that a stabbing has taken place and a person was also shot. The Police are always here but seem to do nothing to stop this said one man who asked not to be named its totally out of control.
Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors while the situation was being assessed and managed by the police. Overton Road and nearby Loughborough Road were cordoned off as a precautionary measure, and officers remained on site for several hours. A crime scene remains in place following the shooting and stabbing.
