Two Charged with Murder After 54-Year-Old Man Found Dead in South Tyneside
Police officers responded to a call at approximately 06:10 BST on Sunday morning, after being alerted to a grassy area off Shipcote Lane. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 54-year-old Neil Selkirk, who had sustained injuries consistent with an assault. Sadly, Mr. Selkirk was pronounced dead at the scene.
A murder investigation was promptly launched, leading to the arrest of two suspects near the location. The suspects, aged 39 and 33, have since been charged with the murder of Mr. Selkirk. Both individuals are scheduled to appear before magistrates in South Tyneside later today.
