A man is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital following a violent attack in Arboretum Park, Derby, where he was struck with a bat. The incident occurred around 9pm on Friday, according to Derbyshire Police.
The 30-year-old victim was reportedly approached by a group of unknown youths in Rose Hill Street before being assaulted with the bat. Following the attack, he was urgently transported to a local hospital where he is now being treated for serious injuries.
Authorities are seeking information on the assailants, who were described as Asian males, aged between 15 and 20. The main attacker was reportedly wearing a long white thobe, a traditional kaftan robe.
Derbyshire Police are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Arboretum Park at the time of the incident and may have witnessed the attack or any suspicious activity to come forward. The police are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who may have seen the group before or after the assault took place.
