In a devastating turn of events, three individuals lost their lives in a serious road accident on the A13 in east London. The victims have been identified as Sachin Kalia, 19, Davina Kaur Ruprah, 24, and Kiranjeet Sagoo, 36. The crash occurred late in the evening on July 15, shortly after 10 pm, near Wennington Marshes, Rainham.
The trio was travelling westbound when their vehicle, impacted by surface water, lost control and collided with a stationary van that had been involved in a prior collision. The circumstances of the crash were detailed at an inquest held at Walthamstow Coroner’s Court.
The three victims, all from the Essex area, were pronounced dead at the scene, their causes of death listed as multiple injuries consistent with a road traffic collision. The inquest heard that the police had been alerted to the earlier van collision but had not yet arrived when the subsequent fatal incident occurred.
Area coroner Nadia Persaud has called for further investigations into the crash, including a detailed collision investigation report from the police. Additionally, there are concerns about the road conditions which may have contributed to the collision, prompting the coroner to request information on any potential road defects.
The loss of Sachin, Davina, and Kiranjeet has resonated deeply within their communities, with family members and friends mourning the sudden tragedy. As the investigation continues, local authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to help piece together the events leading up to the crash.
