Three sheds were destroyed in a fire on Cornwall Close, Maidstone, on Saturday evening, as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 19:01 reporting a shed fire that had spread to two additional sheds. Fire crews arrived promptly with three fire engines at the scene.
Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus managed to extinguish the flames using high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets. The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished by 19:58.
No injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service commended the swift response of the crews, stating, “The prompt actions of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading further, safeguarding nearby properties and ensuring no one was injured.
Residents in the area expressed relief at the quick containment of the fire. One local, Sarah Thompson, said, “We were really worried when we saw the flames. The firefighters did an incredible job stopping it from spreading.
The fire service has urged anyone with information regarding the cause of the fire to come forward as investigations continue.
