The Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) responded to a car fire on Pier Road in Gillingham earlier this evening. The incident occurred at approximately 6.37pm prompting a swift response from emergency services.
One fire engine attended the scene, and firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the flames using a high-pressure hose reel jet. Kent Police assisted by temporarily closing the road to ensure the safety of both the emergency responders and the public.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries in the incident. The road was reopened after the scene was declared safe by KFRS personnel.
The prompt response and effective action by the fire crew prevented the fire from spreading and causing further damage.
