Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man involved in an assault that occurred on Monday, June 24. The incident took place at approximately 4.35pm inside the Friend Mobile store on London Road.
According to reports, the male suspect entered the store and engaged in an argument with a shop assistant. The situation escalated, and the suspect allegedly slashed the staff member across the face with a knife. The victim, a man in his 20s, required hospital treatment for his injuries.
The assailant fled the scene on foot, heading down Camden Street. Investigators are actively pursuing leads, including witness accounts, forensic evidence, and CCTV footage from the area.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon stated, “We are conducting several lines of inquiry and urgently appeal to anyone who identifies the individual in the released image to come forward. Additionally, we encourage anyone who was in the vicinity of London Road or Camden Street around 4:30 p.m. on Monday to share any relevant information.”
