Joseph Lawlor, a 38-year-old man residing on Hampton Road in Finglas, Dublin 11, appeared in Dublin District Court today, facing charges related to the murder of 51-year-old Michael Ryan.
The incident occurred in Finglas on Thursday, June 20.
Garda Shane Gallagher, stationed at Finglas Garda Station, testified that he arrested Lawlor in Finglas yesterday afternoon. Following his arrest, Lawlor remained silent when charged and cautioned.
Judge John Hughes granted legal aid to the accused, considering his lack of employment. Lawlor has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday, June 28.
Michael Ryan, a father of two from Carton Road in Poppintree near Ballymun, was discovered injured around 00:30 on Hampton Wood Way, St. Margaret’s Road, last Thursday. He was transported by ambulance to Mater Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
