Authorities in Rotherham are urgently seeking witnesses and any available CCTV footage following a dog attack that occurred on Denman Road. The incident took place at approximately 16:34 on Monday, June 3.
Two individuals were injured during the incident. A 54-year-old woman sustained minor injuries, while a 31-year-old man suffered serious and potentially life-altering injuries. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, but the aggressive dog proved difficult to control, posing a risk to both the public and emergency personnel.
In order to prevent further harm, authorisation was granted to destroy the dog. However, investigators are now focused on determining how the animal became dangerously out of control in the first place.
