Woman Charged with Robbery and Attempted Theft at Penge Supermarket

Several cases were brought before the Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, revealing a spectrum of offences and their respective legal outcomes.

EMEL MUHARREM, aged 34 and residing in Merino Place, Sidcup, admitted to charges of assaulting a police officer and causing damage to a police custody suite on April 7. As a consequence, Muharrem was sentenced to a one-year community order, reflecting the seriousness of the offences.

JOHN COFFEY, aged 48 and hailing from Nichols Lane in Bromley, faced charges of racially aggravated harassment, alarm, or distress against a woman in Bromley on April 15. Following a conviction, Coffey was handed a one-year community order, underscoring the court’s commitment to upholding standards of respect and dignity within the community.

In a separate incident involving a juvenile, a 16-YEAR-OLD from Bromley admitted to driving a motorbike dangerously and without a valid license within the Bromley area. Recognizing the youth of the offender, the court opted to refer the case to a youth offender panel, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation and guidance for young individuals involved in criminal activity.
