Investigators from Kent Police have charged a woman with attempted murder in connection with an incident where a pedestrian was deliberately struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred near Sittingbourne on the A249 at the Bobbing Roundabout at 5.22am on Friday, May 31, 2024.
Emergency services, including patrols and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, responded to the scene. The injured man was treated on-site and subsequently transported to a local hospital for further medical attention. Fortunately, he has since been discharged. During the incident, a woman was also reported to have been assaulted.
On Sunday, June 2, Lauren Willis, a 26-year-old resident of Wollaston Close in Gillingham, was arrested in connection with the case. Following authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service, Ms Willis faces charges of attempted murder, two counts of actual bodily harm, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Ms Willis is scheduled to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 4.
Investigators are urging witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to come forward.
