A person has been brought to safety following an incident on the Dartford Crossing yesterday afternoon. Concerns for the individual’s welfare were raised at the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge at approximately 12:25 pm on May 22.
As emergency services responded, all traffic on the bridge was halted, resulting in long delays and three miles of congestion. Officers from Essex Police attended the scene and successfully brought the person to safety.
The bridge reopened at around 2:30 pm, and traffic restrictions have since returned to normal.
A spokesperson for Essex Police commented: “An incident on the Dartford Crossing has now been resolved. We had been called to concerns for someone on the bridge shortly after 12:25 pm. Officers attended and brought them to safety. The road is now reopening. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
