Motorists are facing significant delays this morning on the A282 northbound between the A296 and the A206 at the Dartford Crossing. National Highways South-East has confirmed that two lanes are closed following a lorry breakdown.
As a result of the lane closures, there is currently a six-mile congestion on approach to the crossing, causing approximately one-hour delays for drivers. Travellers are advised to seek alternative routes or expect extended travel times.
National Highways tweeted from their official handle @HighwaysSEAST, stating, “2 Lanes are closed on the #A282 northbound between the #A296 and the #A206 #DartfordCrossing due to a broken down lorry.
Traffic Officers from National Highways and recovery teams are on the scene working to clear the lorry as quickly as possible to reopen the affected lanes. However, there is no immediate indication of when the lanes will be fully operational again.
Drivers are urged to stay informed through live traffic updates and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid further disruption.
