Person killed after being hit by a train near Gravesend

Emergency services have been called to an incident on the railway between Strood and Gravesend. Trains cannot currently run between the stations. A person hit by a train has sadly died, as a result of this all lines are currently blocked. Trains between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 11:00. To help with your journey, tickets will be accepted on Fastrack Buses between Ebbsfleet and Gravesend. Rail replacement buses have also been requested to run between Strood / Gravesend and Dartford. Train operator South-eastern have advised they have ordered replacement buses and delays are to be expected. A spokesman for British Transport Police said, officers where called to the incident near Gravesend station just after 7.30am, Sunday. A person has been struck by a train and sadly passed away.
