Central to the government’s strategy is the establishment of a new Centre for Police Productivity, tasked with driving forward innovations and implementing recommendations outlined in the review. One of the key recommendations endorsed by the government is the expansion of facial recognition technology, with £55.5 million earmarked for its rollout nationwide. Furthermore, the government is committed to implementing the Right Care, Right Person approach, which seeks to ensure that individuals experiencing a mental health crisis receive appropriate treatment from health and social care professionals.
