Nestle, renowned for its diverse range of food and drink products, has confirmed the reason behind the discontinuation of Maxibon ice creams in the UK, leaving fans longing for its comeback.
The multinational food and beverage company, recognized for household favourites like Kit Kat, Smarties, Nesquik, and Nescafe coffee, has recently made waves with the axing of several products from its lineup. In November last year, Nestle announced the discontinuation of Caramac and Animal Bars, much to the dismay of devoted fans. Following suit, in February 2024, Nestle revealed the removal of Breakaway and Yorkie biscuit bars from its product range.
Among the casualties of this restructuring was the beloved Maxibon ice cream, which was phased out from the UK market several years ago. Loyal fans have taken to social media platforms to express their disappointment and plead for its return, with one user on X (formerly Twitter) urging “@NestleUKI bring back maxibon to the UK, seriously not happy about this, it’s been too long.
Addressing the outcry, a Nestle spokesperson responded on X, shedding light on the decision to discontinue Maxibon ice creams in the UK. It wasn’t as popular as others in the range, so it’s been discontinued. But we’ll surely let the team know you’d like to see it back,” the spokesperson explained.
While Maxibon enthusiasts await a potential revival of their favourite ice cream treat, Nestle has continued to innovate and delight consumers with new chocolate offerings in 2024. In January, the company introduced two new Aero chocolate bars, including a tantalizing choco-hazelnut flavour. February saw the launch of a new white chocolate Kit Kat, further expanding the iconic brand’s repertoire. Adding to the excitement, a new Strawberry-flavored Aero chocolate is slated for release in the UK in May, promising a burst of fruity indulgence for chocolate lovers nationwide.
As Nestle navigates changes in its product portfolio, the anticipation for new releases and the hopeful anticipation for the return of old favourites remain high among consumers eager to savour the next delicious treat.
