In a crackdown on local crime, officers from the Tactical Enforcement Unit swooped in on Meridian Close, Crawley, on April 13th, arresting Adrian Walker for a series of shoplifting incidents. Walker, 50, confessed to 22 counts of shoplifting and one count of theft from a property during his appearance at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on April 15th.

The crime spree, spanning from August 30th, 2023, to April 9th, targeted Co-op stores predominantly in Dorsten Square, Bewbush. The stolen goods amassed a total value of £1463.23.

While released on unconditional bail, Walker faces stringent measures with an interim Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). This order prohibits him from entering any Co-op or Morrisons Daily stores in Sussex, along with all retail establishments in Dorsten Square. Additionally, he must promptly vacate any premises in Sussex upon the owner’s request.

Walker’s guilty plea underscores authorities’ efforts to combat crime in the Crawley area, with ongoing measures aimed at safeguarding local businesses and communities.
