In a major breakthrough, ten individuals have been apprehended in connection with the brutal murders of two men that occurred six years ago in Coventry. The victims’ families have expressed their ongoing hope for justice as authorities intensify their investigation.
The Victims
- Johnny Robbins, aged 33, vanished on March 21, 2018. Investigators believe he was subjected to torture before being killed. Tragically, his body remains undiscovered.
- Daniel Shaw, found with gunshot wounds to his chest, met a violent end in Copland Place, Tile Hill, on March 25, 2018.
Arrests and Suspects
This week, West Midlands Police made significant progress:
- Six men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
- Two women and two men were apprehended on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All those detained are in their 20s and 30s. The arrests took place across the Midlands, including Coventry and Warwickshire.
- Three of the male suspects remain in custody after being held yesterday and this morning.
- The remaining seven suspects, arrested earlier this week, have been released on bail pending further investigation.
Seeking Ryan Hobday
Authorities continue their search for Ryan Hobday, who was 28 years old in 2018. Hobday, from Coventry, is wanted in connection with the murders. Disturbingly, investigators suspect that he, too, may have been a victim of foul play.

Johnny’s mother, Ginnie, expressed the family’s enduring struggle: “We’ve been in a very long and black tunnel for six painful years. There’s still a long way to go, but we have confidence in the dedicated work of the homicide team to bring justice for our beloved Johnny.”
Daniel’s sister, Blossom, shared her sentiments: “After six years, it’s uplifting to finally witness positive progress in Daniel’s murder investigation. Our thoughts are always with him, and we hope justice prevails.”
