A Nastynasty smash has slammed all england/four-lanes/”>england/four-lanes/”>four lanes of the M25 clockwise at Junction 14, close to A3113 Airport Way, just before 5am this morning. The closure is wreaking havoc for drivers heading towards Heathrow Airport.
Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue, and South East Coast Ambulance Service are on the scene. Injuries are still unconfirmed.
Traffic Nightmare: Delays Snarl Back to Staines
Motorists are trapped in gridlock with exit times now exceeding 30 minutes. Tailbacks stretch as far as Junction 13 (A30) near Staines, with heavy congestion spilling onto the A30 into town. Drivers are urged to steer clear if they can.
National Highways warns the motorway closure will stay in place until around 10:45am, with a full reopening expected shortly after. Delays are currently 40 minutes above normal.
‘Up & Over’ Closure Sparks Diversions
To tackle the chaos, traffic is being diverted off and back on via the slip roads in an “up & over” closure. Commuters should seek alternative routes to dodge the jam.
