An 18-year-old man has died following a brutal two-vehicle crash on the A27 near england/england/england/wilmington/”>wilmington/”>wilmington/”>Wilmington.
The fatal collision happened shortly before 11pm on Tuesday, 30 September, between Wilmington and Polegate. Emergency services rushed to the scene but sadly, the young driver from Heathfield was pronounced dead on arrival.
Serious Injuries and Road Closure
The second driver, a 26-year-old man from Eastbourne, suffered serious injuries and is currently hospitalized.
The A27 was shut overnight between Polegate and the Drusillas roundabout as investigators combed the scene. The road has now reopened to traffic.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Sussex Police are appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage from the area around the time to come forward.
“We are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident. We ask anyone who was travelling along this part of the A27 that evening to check their dashcams and contact us if they have any footage that could help.”
