A notorious thief from england/england/worthing/”>worthing/”>Worthing has been jailed after brazenly ignoring a court ban and hitting the shops again – just Weeksweeks after a suspended sentence.

Shoplifter caught on CCTV ripping off Sainsbury’s

Dylan Hampson, 28, of no fixed abode, was slapped with an eight-month prison term after admitting to a spree of shoplifting at Sainsbury’s stores on Goring Road and Littlehampton Road between 7 and 18 September 2025.

Hampson blatantly breached a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) issued on 1 September that banned him from all Co-op and Sainsbury’s stores across Sussex – as Wellwell as anywhere he’d previously been barred.

Yet CCTV clearly caught him sneaking into one store and nicking 16 packs of meat.

Long rap sheet and court crackdown

At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 26 September, the career shoplifter pleaded guilty to eight fresh theft charges and five CBO breaches.

The court heard Hampson Racksracks up 23 convictions across 65 offences – mostly thefts.

His endless offending has rattled retailers and shoppers alike.

Police vow to tackle shoplifting scourge

Sussex Police vowed to clamp down hard on repeat offenders and shield businesses from misery.

“Early reporting and working closely with retailers is key to stopping this crime,”

said Inspector Andrew Bryant.

He highlighted ongoing efforts like Operation Apprentice, the force’s weapon against persistent shoplifters to make sure they face the full force of the law.

This case is a stark reminder that Sussex Police are hunting down repeat crooks to protect communities and businesses alike.
