A New Meaning to Traffic Island as Pensioner Careers on to it
A pensioner caused traffic chaos this morning after his car careered onto a traffic safety island in Stubbington. The elderly gent hit the gas and mounted the traffic island after what is believed to be a medical episode on Burnt House Lane just after 11am. Traffic came to a stand still as the road was closed and traffic diverted. Police closed the road, a fire crew from Fareham made the vehicle and area safe before leaving Boardhunt recovery to remove the vehicle. The gent who car and pride is dented is not thought to be seriously hurt following the incident. A Wedding had to be delayed at the near by church as the brides car was stuck in the jams that had built up around the around and surrounding roads.
