Yellow Weather Warning Issued as Storm Kate set to hit the South
The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain from 21:00 tonight. Winds of up to 70mph could hit Hampshire on Monday when Storm Katie arrives, the Met Office has warned. The weather states: “Winds will strengthen markedly across southern England and through the Bristol Channel from the start of Monday, with the potential for 50-60 mph gusts inland and 70 mph gusts around coasts exposed to the south. Widely the South could see 10-20 mm, perhaps 30 mm locally followed by further bands of showery rainfall, which could locally bring 10 to 15mm in only a couple of hours. The wind warning remains in place and is active from 01:15-15:00 tomorrow.
