Fire Engine take Patient to Hospital after Tower Block fire in Portsmouth
Yesterday evening just after 6pm in Portsmouth, Hampshire Fire and Rescue were called to deal with a fire to a ‘persons reported’ fire on the 15th floor of a high-rise block of flat. The fire had broken out in the kitchen at Edgebaston House,Portsmouth. The home owner of the property a 50 year man suffered smoke inhalation (potentially dependent on their age/health issues a serious situation). The fire crews at the scene requested an ambulance from South Central Ambulance service despite waiting in excess an hour an ambulance it was not provided. The officer in charge gave up waiting for the ambulance and the decision was taken to transport the casualty to QA hospital in Cosham using the Fire Appliance! Given the delays currently to ambulances at QA, this is another sign that not only is your NHS failing.
